Four up-and-coming indie bands—including bands that performed on the "ROOKIE A GO-GO" stage at "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '26"— will gather at Shindaita FEVER for Cultivate Vol.4!

The hottest bands on Japan’s indie scene right now are coming together for one night.
GeGeGe and Tocago—who performed at “ROOKIE A GO-GO,” the new talent showcase at this summer’s “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’26,” and are gaining attention as the next generation of artists— Joined by BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON and THE Tiva—both of whom have honed their musical skills and accumulated extensive live performance experience—These four acts will come together for the live event “Cultivate vol.4,” taking place on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Shindaita FEVER.
“Cultivate” is a genre-defying live music event that was previously held primarily at Shibuya La.mama. Starting with this edition, Kulture will be taking over as the organizer, and the event will be even bigger and better, showcasing the diverse charms of the artists.
GeGeGe, who will be performing this time, is an indie music project that has garnered a dedicated following both in Japan and abroad since its early days, thanks to its unique sound that blends a lo-fi, psychedelic soundscape with ethereal Japanese lyrics. Tocago is known for its delicate yet powerful alternative indie folk sound, performed by members with roots in country and blues. Both acts are currently gaining significant attention, having performed at “ROOKIE A GO-GO” during this summer’s “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’26.”
BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON is an independent pop band that has garnered international acclaim, including the release of a single in 2022 on the French label Kitsuné Musique. From March through May of this year, they released a new single every month for three consecutive months, further enhancing their rich musicality and expressiveness. THE Tiva has performed at events such as “SUMMER SONIC 2019” and “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’22,” and in April of this year, they released their second album, *Goodbye and Say Hi.*, which showcases their alternative rock sound and catchy melodies. Having transitioned to a three-member lineup this summer, the band is gaining even more momentum.

■GeGeGe
GeGeGe is a Japanese indie music project. They create a unique sound in which a lo-fi texture and psychedelic soundscapes blend with ethereal Japanese lyrics.
It began in 2017 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, as a solo project by Ryoto Mizuno. That same year, the group released the EP *Moyamoya* and their debut album *SF*—part of which was recorded at Galileo Galilei’s studio—garnering attention both domestically and internationally despite being relatively unknown. Starting in 2018, he began performing live in earnest after welcoming friends as band members, and in 2019, he released his second album, *MOON*. When Mizuno moved his base to Tokyo in 2023, he completed his third album, *Mata Aou*, in 2024—an album on which he played nearly all instruments himself (except for drums), recorded at home, and mastered with the help of Soichiro Nakamura. The release concert at Tsukimiru Kimi Omou in Aoyama was sold out. The current lineup consists of Ryoto Mizuno (G/Vo), Takuro Fukuda (Dr), Morito Oda (G), and Rinkai Maeno (B).

■BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON
A music project featuring Shohei Megumi (vocals, guitar), Ayu Megumi (vocals, bass), and Yusuke Okada (drums). They released their first full-length album, *Holden*, in October 2021. This was followed in 2022 by the single “Fake My Heart” on the French label Kitsuné Musique. They are currently working on their second album.

Tocago is an alternative indie folk band based in Tokyo. Formed by vocalist and guitarist Chizuru Oki, along with Asuka Mori—who has roots in country and blues and also performs as a pedal steel guitarist—Satoru Isobe, a bassist who has been with the band since its inception, and drummer Takumi Isobe, who also plays with “Guiba” and “South Penguin,” the band has been performing live since 2022. In 2023, they released their debut EP, *Wonder*. In November 2024, they released their second EP, *How are you feeling?*. In October 2025, they released their second single, *Foster*, digitally. Additionally, in November 2025, they released “How are you feeling?” (LP), their first vinyl record compiling their first and second EPs. The delicate yet powerful performances, played by experienced members with the natural flow of breath, seem to gently raise the temperature deep within your body. The lyrics convey a deep love for nature, the city, insects, and the everyday life found there, gently evoking the pain that inevitably comes with such affection.

■THE Tiva
THE Tiva is a garage rock band from Canada that feels like a time machine. Vocalist/guitarist Maya Akechi and drummer Sachi formed the band in 2018 following the breakup of their previous band. They perform under the premise that they are from Canada. They debuted with their first EP, *we are the tiva - EP*, and performed at SUMMER SONIC 2019 after being selected from 3,900 applicants for the “Can We Play⁉ Summer Sonic⁉ 2019” contest. In 2022, they also performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’22.
In April 2026, they released their latest second album, *Goodbye and Say Hi.* That summer, Kou officially joined the band, bringing the lineup to three members. Starting in August, they also held their first café tour as a trio, *THE TIVA Solo Concert Café Tour ’26*. A three-piece garage band that brings joy to everyone with their soaring vocals and powerful performances!
